The Death of the Real Estate Agent is Greatly Exaggerated
The notion that the internet will make the invaluable knowledge of agents obsolite is laughable, if consumers are relying on websites such as Trulia and Zillow to get information. After spending two hours combing through listings, inaccuracies seem to be the norm instead of the exception. Besides incorrect prices, I found incorrect maps, listing agents and just general information on 23 of my 41 properties for sale. With constant feeds from listing sources I just can not fathom why information is not updated. While some sites say they are updating everyday it just is not true. After having my broker call one website we found that they had not updated in over 100 days. Consumers, thinking they are getting up to date information could very well be missing what they are searching for, if they are trying to see what is new to the market.
